Adding to the obesity-cancer connection I bring you this little tidbit. This may lead you to wonder how my new exercise attempts are going (or maybe you don't care, that's ok too!). So far, so good. I have found some televised yoga shows here (a show called "Inhale" with Steve Ross on Oxygen network) and here (Namaste Yoga on FitTV). Both are lovely, and perfect to do early in the morning before you get too busy.

I have also been running because the weather is so perfect, and I know that in a few months when we are in the throws of Old Man Winter here in Wisconsin, I will fondly remember the late sunsets and warm wind on my face. I have thrown in some weight training as well, just to keep it interesting. One of the most painful work outs of my life came courtesy of this video. OUCH. I have kept up with my desire to work out five days a week (so far), but I know that soon my motivation will wane, as it inevitably does. I'm wondering, how do you stay motivated, especially when work gets busy? Also, I have been thinking about participating in a 5K or similar event. I would love to do one for cancer research, but I worry about giving the appearance that I favor one type of cancer over another. Do you have any guidance on that issue? This is the same reason why I don't wear any cancer ribbons, since I do GI oncology, which has so many different cancer types. I suppose the LiveStrong bracelet would be ok or some other general symbol of cancer patient support.
