PHILADELPHIA — In this video, Paul Kwo, MD, professor of medicine and director of hepatology at Stanford University, discusses recent efforts to advance elimination of hepatitis C virus.

At the ACG Annual Scientific Meeting, Kwo delivered a talk about screening recommendations and treatment options for patients with HCV.

“The treatment of hepatitis C ... has been highly successful through direct-acting anti-viral agents, but we still have a long way to go,” he told Healio. “The pandemic certainly halted our ability to pursue our elimination goals for hepatitis C, but we are now moving forward with trying to eliminate and reengage individuals.”
