BOSTON — In this video, Tatyana Kushner, MD, MSCE, spoke with Healio about interim results from a study investigating treatment of hepatitis c virus infection in pregnant people.

According to Kushner, associate professor of medicine with Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, it is currently recommended to screen all pregnant individuals for HCV, regardless of risk factors.

“The next natural question then is, can we then treat these individuals and can we treat them during pregnancy potentially, which has been a very exciting conversation over the past year,” she said.
