GIQuIC partners with Health Catalyst platform to augment clinical GI registry

The GI Quality Improvement Consortium clinical registry – or GIQuIC – a joint collaboration of ACG and ASGE, has partnered with Health Catalyst to use its new technology platform, Armus Hybrid Clinical Registry and Reporting Solution.
“This collaboration will enhance the service we already provide to our registry participants by allowing GIQuIC to leverage the depth and breadth of offerings and prior experience and success Health Catalyst has with respect to registry services and health care analytics,” Costas H. Kefalas, MD, MMM, FACG, FASGE, president of the GIQuIC board of directors, said in a press release. “The ultimate goal is to empower our users to improve the quality of the health care they provide to their patients.”
He added: “This experience will be especially valuable as we enhance the registry functionality, add additional endoscopy procedures and digestive disease states, and facilitate patient-reported outcomes.”
Hybrid is a cloud-based registry platform with a patient-centric approach that collects robust longitudinal data. The platform will allow for a more streamlined user experience and will enhance GIQuIC’s process for data capturing. GIQuIC and Health Catalyst plan to transition existing registry data on operations for colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy by the beginning of 2024, the release stated.
The aim is to add additional data collection and reporting on endoscopic procedures and disease states, including inflammatory bowel disease, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, endoscopic bariatric therapy, endoscopic ultrasound, wireless capsule endoscopy and deep enteroscopy.
