MIAMI — In this Healio video exclusive, Jami A. Kinnucan, MD, discusses some of the take-home points from her talk on work-life integration at the first-ever Scrubs & Heels Summit for women in gastroenterology.

Kinnucan, senior associate consultant at the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and co-chair of the event, held a fireside chat with attendees and had an honest perspective about creating a more ideal work-life balance.

“The truth is, none of us raised our hand that we’re doing it perfectly,” Kinnucan said. “But we certainly are trying to be more efficient, work smarter, sleep better, spend more time on ourselves to make sure we can spend time with our loved ones and our families,”

In addition to the fireside chat, Kinnucan also gave a presentation on the lessons she learned going from her fellowship to her dream job and the negotiations she navigated along the way.
