In this video exclusive, Florian Rieder, MD, and Jiannan Li, MD, PhD, from Cleveland Clinic, discussed a study that looked at Cadherin-11 levels in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, in particular Crohn’s disease.
They said Cadherin-11 expression is increased in Crohn’s strictures. Prevention of Cadherin-11 reduces clinical severity and fibrosis of experimental colitis. However, it did not prevent colitis associated colon cancer.
