Camber announces launch of generic Nexium delayed-release capsules

Camber Pharmaceuticals announced the launch of esomeprazole magnesium delayed-release capsules, a generic version of AstraZeneca’s Nexium, for the treatment of heartburn, GERD, stomach ulcers and esophageal damage, according to a press release.

“Esomeprazole represents as a significant product in the growth of our organization,” Kon Ostaficiuk, president of Camber, said in the press release. “Our parent company, Hetero Labs Limited, has received the final approval for esomeprazole [abbreviated new drug application] from the U.S. FDA. Hetero Labs Limited has invested in the technology used to manufacture this challenging product and the results are reflected in the scale of our capacities.”

The new generic drug is available in 20-mg and 40-mg doses and in 30-, 90- and 1000-count bottles, according to the press release.

“We are very happy to extend one more affordable treatment option to the patients in [the] U.S.,” Ostaficiuk said in the press release. “Our product pipeline continues to be impressive and it shows Camber’s commitment to provide affordable medications in a wide variety of formulations and therapies in [the] U.S.”
