SLACK Incorporated, publisher of Healio.com, has launched a news app for gastroenterology compatible with iPhone® or iPad®. This app will make it quicker and easier for health care professionals within this specialty to receive relevant medical news and information pertinent to their field.

The Healio.com/Gastroenterology app offers exclusive features available on Healio.com. The app delivers breaking news and top trending stories, along with access to the video library and a wide range of subspecialty topics for more focused learning. Also available are perspectives from key opinion leaders in the specialty and “In the Journals,” time-saving executive summaries of the most important research appearing in top peer-reviewed journals. Users have the ability to comment on articles, share via email or social media, and save articles for offline reading.

“Gastroenterology is a growing specialty that we’re excited to be expanding into this year,” said Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, Senior Vice President of SLACK Incorporated. “Following the launch of eight specialty new apps in 2013, we’re excited to build upon their success and expand our reach to physicians and other health care professionals within the field of gastroenterology.”

SLACK produces 42 publications in print and online; publishes more than 250 medical and allied health books; creates custom print and Internet-related projects; and produces convention daily newspapers and meeting supplements for a growing number of health care meetings.
