In this video exclusive, Caroline T. Nguyen, MD, talks with Trevor E. Angell, MD, about the diverse group of conditions known as thyroiditis.

Nguyen and Angell are both in the division of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, where Nguyen is assistant professor of clinical medicine and obstetrics and gynecology, and Angell is assistant professor of clinical medicine and associate medical director of the USC Thyroid Diagnostic Center. Nguyen is also an Endocrine Today Editorial Board Member.

Angell describes what counts as thyroiditis — a destructive or inflammatory state usually associated with hyperthyroidism — risk factors for the conditions and when it should be treated.

Nguyen and Angell are speaking on this topic and more as part of Virtual Thyroid! The USC Peter A. Singer Thyroid Symposium is a hybrid meeting taking place on June 4, 2022.
