19th annual WCIRDC conference to kick off December 2 in Los Angeles

The 19th annual World Congress on Insulin Resistance, Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease conference will take place in-person with a virtual component for remote participants next month.
This year’s conference will take place in-person December 2 to 4 in Los Angeles, while also being streamed live, with the program available on-demand for 90 days.
This year’s theme is “Exploring New Frontiers in Metabolism — Tomorrow’s Clinical Science Today.” International experts are slated to present some of the latest research on the management of diabetes, cardiorenal and metabolic diseases.
The conference will begin with a session titled Has the Beta Cell Been Forgotten? Also on Thursday, Christos S. Mantzoros, MD, PhD, will be presented with the 2020 Gerald Reaven Distinguished Leader in Insulin Resistance Award.
The second day features a joint session between WCIRDC and Metabolism and a session on drug development. A special session titled Multispecialty Management of Diabetes, Cardiorenal ane Metabolic Diseases — Practice Recommendations 2022 will present new cardiometabolic clinical guidance.
The meeting will wrap up with the 2021 Gerald Reaven Distinguished Leader in Insulin Resistance Award presented to Samuel Klein, MD.
The meeting will also include a poster hall, oral abstract presentations, an exhibit hall and industry-supported non-CME programs featuring new scientific concepts from some of the top educators in their fields.
