In this video, Lorena Drago, RD, MS, CDN, CDE, speaks with Diabetes in Real Life columnist Susan Weiner, MS, RDN, CDN, CDCES, FADCES, about making the most of 15-minute diabetes education sessions.
Drago, who is senior associate director at Bellevue Hospital in New York, describes how to prepare the person with diabetes before the session and how to introduce and focus topics during the session. Her “teach back” strategy helps to assess whether the information was received correctly.
