"This distinction reflects our commitment to consistently providing excellent, evidence-based and family-centered care to children with diabetes and endocrine disorders,” Diva D. De León-Crutchlow, MD, MSCE, chief of the division of endocrinology and diabetes center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), told Healio. “Our unwavering commitment to our patients has remained constant during the challenging circumstances brought forward by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our team quickly adapted to working remotely and instituted telemedicine to provide uninterrupted care to the children we serve. These efforts have been made possible by the compassion and dedication of the extraordinary group of physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, nurses, diabetes educators, social workers, dietitians, psychologists, trainees, scientists and administrative staff that are part of this division.”

The list ranked 50 centers in 10 pediatric specialties: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and lung surgery, and urology.
