CHICAGO — In this video exclusive, Anne L. Peters, MD, professor of clinical medicine at Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, discusses exciting developments in diabetes devices, including pumps and hybrid closed-loop systems — both commercial and DIY — as well as sensors and device-app integrating systems.

How much patients are going to use this new technologies and what health care providers do with all the data are still questions, according to Peters.

“As excited as I am about devices,” Peters said, “It requires that we as practitioners learn how to teach them to our patients and that our patients have access to the right kind of education in order to use them well.”
