Endocrine Society joins march on Washington to support scientific research
The Endocrine Society announced it will be participating in the March for Science, joining more than 100 scientific organizations in Washington D.C. to celebrate science and rally support for publicly funded research, according to a press release.
The goal of the march is to bring scientific research out of the labs and journals and into the community, according to the release.

This coincides with the Endocrine Society, among other scientific organizations, calling for support of $34 billion funding bill for the NIH.
“Science is, at its core, evidence-based and nonpartisan,” Henry M. Kronenberg, MD, president of the Endocrine Society said in a press release. “The increasing politicization of science has resulted in stagnant funding, a rejection of evidence and a shrinking research workforce. The [Endocrine] Society is excited to join with the March for Science to support the scientific community, increase public investment in research and evidence-based policies in the public interest.”
The march will take place of April 22 in Washington, and more than 400 cities worldwide will host similar events.
