Ascensia Diabetes Care and Glooko have entered into a partnership to sync data from Ascensia blood glucose meters to Glooko’s versatile monitoring platform, according to a joint press release.

The collaboration will allow the glucose data to sync via Bluetooth and be accessible to patients and health care professionals through mobile and web apps.

Ascensia currently offers its own app for users, but the partnership with Glooko will allow the integration of many popular exercise devices and technologies. Glooko also provides health care professionals with their own tailored tool for access to their patients’ data.

“Glooko’s Diabetes Data Management Platform has become widely used for both personal and clinical diabetes data analytics and decisions support,” Michael Kloss, CEO of Ascensia, said in the release. “By linking our systems to Glooko’s Diabetes Data Management Platform, we want to enable better understanding and analysis of diabetes data, and ultimately help to improve the lives of people with diabetes.”

The integration is expected to be available later in 2017.
