DENVER — In this video exclusive, Tim Korevaar, MD, MSc, a PhD student at Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, Netherlands, discusses a consortium began with Erasmus University Medical Center and Cardiff University that aims to combine all of the data sets available on thyroid and pregnancy.

According to Korevaar, the combination of data sets will allow for adequate sample sizes to make statistical analyses possible.

“We are looking at determinants of thyroid function and are also very interested in whether differences in thyroid function between individuals are associated with the risk of adverse outcomes, for example, neurocognitive outcomes of the child, birth weight and prematurity,” he said.
