Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc. announced that its t:connect diabetes management application, a web-based data management companion to the t:slim insulin pump, has been approved for use by the FDA.

The Mac and PC-compatible data management software application allows patients and their health care providers to display data from the pump and supported blood glucose meters.

It provides patients with color-coded graphs and interactive reports. The applications works by uploading data from the t:slim pump to the t:connect application through a micro-USB connection without interrupting insulin delivery.

Patients with diabetes who currently use the t:slim pump will be able to download the t:connect application from Tandem’s website by the end of March, according to the press release.
