SAN DIEGO — In this video perspective, Menas Kizoulis, senior director of global scientific engagement at Kenvue, discusses the company’s latest research presented at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting.
“The science ranges from highlighting new innovations on products we are bringing to market to meet a variety of consumer needs, like our hydro boost water cream,” Kizoulis said. “We have also presented work on acne, bringing actual research behind trends and fads such as acne patches, which have become so popular.”
Kizoulis said the company is also presenting six scientific posters related to the use of colloidal oatmeal and oatmeal-containing products for a variety of skin conditions, from pediatric to adult atopic dermatitis, as well as the use of oatmeal in combination with biologics for psoriasis. The company’s brands include Aveeno and Neutrogena.
“That research spans from looking at the microbiome and how we can help improve dysbiosis, to quality-of-life research on how oat-based moisturizers can help improve a variety of factors associated with quality of life for the atopic patient, to looking at something as simple as the benefit in terms of skin barrier and moisture,” Kizoulis said.
