In this Healio exclusive video, Raj Chovatiya, MD, PhD, discussed research into the oral molecule apremilast from the Maui Derm 2024 meeting, examining the SPROUT study into apremilast’s use treating psoriasis.

Chovatiya, assistant professor of dermatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, discussed the study, which examined the use of apremilast (Otezla, Celgene) in pediatric patients and produced promising results.

“What it suggested was that the data is pretty consistent to what we’ve seen with adults, and given the overall safety of this medication, really gives us some confidence about treatment of these really tough sites in our pediatric patients,” Chovatiya said.
