VIDEO: New antimicrobial wound healing matrix highlighted at Maui Derm NP+PA

In this Healio video exclusive, George Martin, MD, discusses highlights from Maui Derm NP+PA, including a new wound healing matrix, which he said improves healing and reduces infection rates.

The wound healing membrane, PuraPly Antimicrobial Wound Matrix (Organogenesis), was praised at the conference for its ability to treat surgical wounds.

“You can put it on large granulating wounds, for example those traumatic wounds of the lower extremities, those wound dehiscence that are hard to heal,” Martin, program director of Maui Derm, said.

“This membrane, when applied weekly, really improves healing. It speeds it up because it reduces infection rates and gets rid of the biofilm,” he said.
