Bausch Health Companies Inc., along with its dermatology business Ortho Dermatologics, has awarded scholarships to six recipients as part of its 2023 Aspire Higher Scholarship program, according to a press release.

The Aspire Higher Scholarship program is dedicated to helping students with dermatologic conditions pursue their higher education goals. Each year, the program awards three undergraduate students and three graduate students with up to $10,000 each. Winners are chosen, in part, from personal essays they submitted detailing their clinical, educational and overall life experiences with their dermatologic diagnoses.

This year’s undergraduate scholarship winners are Serena Goyal from Virginia Commonwealth University, Arianna Kaas from University of Wisconsin Madison and Elle Tondo from University of New Haven. This year’s graduate scholarship winners are Erynn Taylor from Georgia College and State University, Matthew Kaczynski from Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Katrina Hertz from University of Pennsylvania.

“We are thrilled to announce the 2023 recipients and were deeply moved and inspired by their personal stories,” Don Pearl, senior vice president of Ortho Dermatologics, said in the release. “We are truly honored to have the opportunity to help them pursue their academic aspirations through this scholarship, and we also thank the health care providers who had a critical hand in helping to treat their conditions.”

Since its inception in 2013, the Aspire Higher Scholarship program has provided $978,000 in scholarships, supporting 75 students who have been affected by dermatologic conditions.
