“The Full Spectrum of Dermatology: A Diverse and Inclusive Atlas” announced the launch of its free online image gallery containing more than 800 images of 110 dermatologic diseases, according to a Galderma press release.

“Our vision for the atlas is that it is a living, evolving and growing image database that will ultimately provide unparalleled access to diverse skin/hair/nail images for trainees and practitioners alike, even beyond the dermatology community and the U.S.,” Misty Eleryan, MD, MS, and Adam Friedman, MD, co-editors of the atlas, said in the release. “These resources are not only meant to directly educate the user, but encourage said user(s) to incorporate these inclusive images within their educational activities and programs.”

“The Full Spectrum of Dermatology: A Diverse and Inclusive Atlas” announced the launch of its free, online image gallery containing more than 800 images of 110 dermatologic diseases.

Developed by SanovaWorks and Educational Testing & Assessment Systems, the online gallery complements the print atlas first released in 2021 and includes high-quality, medical-grade images of real patients with an array of skin tones. With entirely royalty-free images, the atlas is designed for medical education and includes extensive commentary on how to identify and diagnose each condition.

Dermatologists responsible for the gallery’s upkeep and trained in medical photography contribute the images. Galderma USA and Cetaphil provided the grant for the printed atlas for all U.S. dermatology residents and program directors in 2022, and the two companies are also supporting the online gallery.

“Galderma is thrilled to support such an important initiative to help educate the community,” Silvina Nordenstohl, head of U.S. at Galderma, said in the release. “The extensive work that Dr. Eleryan and Dr. Friedman have dedicated to this project will make a huge difference in the dermatology community for both trainees and practitioners.”
