CLEVELAND — In this video, M. Elaine Husni, MD, MPH, stressed the importance of taking into consideration the comorbidities of a patient with immune-mediated disease.
“We are understanding a lot more about how comorbidities are affecting patients with immune-mediated diseases,” Husni, of the department of rheumatic and immunologic disease at the Cleveland Clinic, said.
Husni outlined how comorbidities such as elevated BMI, metabolic syndrome and mental illness can affect how a patient experiences IMIDs and how clinicians can choose therapies.
