CLEVELAND — Inflammation that causes psoriasis also impacts cardiovascular health, according to Nehal Mehta, MD, MSCE, FAHA, of the NIH.
In a presentation at the Medical Dermatology Therapy Update II meeting, Mehta discussed reminding patients that psoriasis can increase cardiometabolic disease and diabetes, and that treating this underlying inflammation and living a heart-healthy lifestyle can reduce these risks.
