Healio announces Unmasking COVID-19 Town Hall series, podcast

Healio is launching a new virtual town hall series on Friday, November 5, at 11 a.m. EST, with experts across medical specialties discussing ongoing COVID-19-related topics.
Attendance for the virtual town hall is open to the first 500 registrants by clicking here and will be captured and later available through the Unmasking COVID-19 podcast series.
The first installment, centered around COVID-19 booster shots, will feature a discussion among Leonard H. Calabrese, DO, Chief Medical Editor of Healio Rheumatology and professor of medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, and R.J. Fasenmyer Chair of Clinical Immunology at the Cleveland Clinic; Joel M. Gelfand, MD, MSCE, Chief Medical Editor of Healio | Psoriatic Disease and professor of dermatology and epidemiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania; and Carlos del Rio, MD, Healio | Infectious Disease News Editorial Board Member, Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Executive Associate Dean at Emory University School of Medicine. Del Rio was also an investigator on Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine trial.
New town halls and podcast episodes on topics around COVID-19 will continue every other week with different experts joining Calabrese and Gelfand.
“Clearly COVID-19 continues to rapidly advance in terms of knowledge and action we need to take. Here is an opportunity to bring together experts from many different disciplines to answer the most pressing questions around how to help manage patients with chronic inflammatory diseases and other unique situations through the pandemic,” Gelfand told Healio.
“We are excited to be able to leverage the Healio platform in this way by bringing together experts across various medical specialties and sharing their knowledge with a broad spectrum of health care professionals who comprise our Healio audience,” Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, Chief Content Officer at Healio, said. “With knowledge around COVID-19 expanding and changing almost daily, we thought a live town hall, captured in a podcast and other online formats, would be the best means to reach the largest audience of health care providers as rapidly as possible.”
