Nefertiti lift associated with satisfactory outcomes for patients, investigators

The Nefertiti lift was associated with significant improvement in platysmal bands at rest and at tension, according to recent findings.

Researchers that there is uncertainty about both the prognostic factors that predict the success of the Nefertiti lift, and the impact of the procedure on aging components in the lower face and neck.

The analysis included 30 participants who each received a mean injected dose of 124.9 U of abobotulinumtoxinA along the inferior border of the mandible and into the platysmal bands, according to the findings.

Results showed a statistically significant improvement in platysmal bands at rest and with maximal tension. Regarding other outcome measures that underwent evaluation — including jowls, marionette lines, oral commissures and neck volume — both patients and investigators observed nonsignificant trends toward improvement in the Global Aesthetics Improvement Score.

The improvement rate as evaluated by investigators and patients was 93.3%, while 96.6% of patients reported satisfaction with the outcome of the procedure.

Patients who demonstrated the most improvement had lower pre-injection region-specific scores than all other patients in the cohort.

“The Nefertiti lift can be used on its own or in conjunction with other rejuvenating procedures,” the researchers concluded. “It is particularly helpful in younger patients

with platysma muscle hyperactivity and retained skin elasticity.”
