Sciton launches women's health review board, including dermatologists

Sciton has announced members of its Women’s Health Clinical Review Board.

The manufacture of laser and light systems for the medical and aesthetic market has appointed specialists in dermatology, plastic surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, uro/gynecology and urology. Each specialty will contribute expertise in female pelvic conditions, including issues with vulvar skin, sexual healh, well-being and clinical laser applications, according to a news release.

Sciton also announced a launch of an ongoing initiative to recognize centers providing care for women receiving Sciton’s diVa vaginal laser therapy.

Dermatologists named to the board include Mary Gail Mercurio, MD, FAAD, professor, dermatology, and obstetrics and gynecology departments, University of Rochester Medical Center, New York; and Chris Robb, MD, PhD, FAAD, clinical assistant professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and founder of Skin and Allergy Center, Springhill, Tennessee. 

Jay Burns, MD, a plastic surgeon at Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, also was named to the board.
