ORLANDO, Fla. — In a video perspective from the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, Vicki Lawrence discusses her diagnosis of chronic idiopathic urticaria and the patient educational campaign that she represents.
Lawrence, well known for her roles on “The Carol Burnett Show” and “Mama’s Family,” was diagnosed with chronic idiopathic urticaria (CIU) about 6 years ago. She is part of “CIU & You,” a resource program for patients with CIU supported by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, and sponsored by Genentech and Novartis. Watch Video

Troy Aikman joins advanced melanoma awareness initiative
Troy Aikman, Pro Football Hall of Famer and a former melanoma patient, has joined Novartis’ new initiative to educate patients and caregivers about advanced melanoma, according to a press release.
Aikman was diagnosed with stage II melanoma in 1998, with the melanoma caught early before it spread, the release reported. Read more
Actress, author La La Anthony teams with National Psoriasis Foundation on patient positivity campaign
La La Anthony, an author, fashion designer and TV personality, has teamed with the National Psoriasis Foundation to encourage people with psoriasis to share images of their achievements while living with the disease, according to a press release.
“As an actress, wife, mom and woman living with psoriasis, it’s important to not let my disease stop me from living my life and pursuing my goals,” Anthony said in the release. Read more
