PhotoSonix Medical appoints Steele as executive chairman

PhotoSonix Medical announced it has appointed Mark D. Steele as executive chairman of the company.

Steele recently joined the board of directors of the medical company with a focus on acne treatment, according to a news release from PhotoSonix. Steele had previously served as CEO of NeoStrata, which was acquired by Johnson & Johnson in May 2016.

“PhotoSonix has developed a novel and highly effective approach to the treatment of acne,” Adam Dakin, PhotoSonix Medical co-founder and acting CEO, who will continue to advise the company, stated in the release. “Mark Steele is a 30-year veteran of the dermatology and consumer products industries. We are very excited about combining his proven track record and commercial expertise with our technology.”

“This company is developing a unique, drug-free solution to the treatment of acne, a large market with few effective solutions,” Steele stated in the release. “I look forward to executing the company’s commercialization plan.”

The CLENS system is not available for commercial use in the United. States, PhotoSonix reported.
