ORLANDO, Fla. — In a video perspective from the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, Amy J. McMichael, MD, FAAD, discusses the Skin of Color Society.

McMichael, a professor and chair of dermatology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and outgoing president of the Skin of Color Society, discussed the society’s annual meeting, which was held the day before the beginning of the AAD annual meeting.

The society’s meeting included invited speakers and work from students and research fellows, with awards presented. There were more than 20 research posters presented, as well.

“We really had a phenomenal showing of amazing folks in our dermatology community who really care about skin of color,” McMichael told Healio.com/Dermatology.
