ORLANDO, Fla. — In a video perspective from the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, Anne M. Chapas, MD, FAAD, discusses the basic science behind new devices in dermatology, including lasers.
Chapas, medical director of Union Square Laser Dermatology and clinical instructor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, discussed a session she helped to develop that looks at research behind laser resurfacing, skin tightening and body contouring devices.
“Dermatologists have really been at the forefront of laser research for the past five decades,” Chapas told Healio.com/Dermatology. “They are continuing to question and test these devices to their optimum levels, so that we can provide better treatments for our patients.”
