ORLANDO, Fla. — In a video perspective from the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, Clay J. Cockerell, MD, discusses the resurgence of cutaneous radiation therapy for treating skin cancer.
Cockerell, clinical professor of dermatology and pathology and director of dermatopathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and director of Cockerell and Associates Dermpath Diagnostics Laboratories, reported to Healio.com/Dermatology that new technology, including that developed by Sensus Healthcare, have allowed for delivery of treatment in a precise fashion in lower doses.
He said that the treatment is often used as adjunct therapy and for patients who are not surgical candidates.
