ORLANDO, Fla. — In a video perspective from the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, AAD President Henry W. Lim, MD, FAAD, outlines his vision for the academy in the upcoming year.

Lim, who assumed the presidency at the end of the meeting, told Healio.com/Dermatology that a dermatology specialty summit is planned in May and will include subspecialty society leaders and representatives of patient support groups and state societies.

The summit will include discussions on the best use of data and resources to educate policy makers, other medical specialties and the public on the important work of dermatology and how to make dermatology “a better specialty than what we are now.”
