ORLANDO, Fla. — In a video perspective from the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, Dee Anna Glaser, MD, FAAD, discusses treatment with superficial chemical peels.

Glaser, professor and interim chair of the department of dermatology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, discussed the use of superficial chemical peels for melasma and other pigmentary disorders, in which patients have very little down time.

She emphasized that patients need to be made aware that there will need to be multiple treatments over a period of time and that the peels are usually used with other topical agents.
