VIDEO: Guidelines on using relative risks for skin cancer screenings

ORLANDO, Fla. — In a video perspective from the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, Sancy A. Leachman, MD, PhD, FAAD, discusses a research paper on guidelines to using relative risks for people who should receive skin cancer screenings.

Leachman, professor and chair of the department of dermatology at Oregon Health and Science University and director of the melanoma program at Knight Cancer Institute, and fellow melanoma specialists and dermatologists wrote the paper in response to the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force’s (USPSTF) determination that there is not enough evidence to make a recommendation on asymptomatic adults receiving skin cancer screenings from a physician.
