Lim assumes presidency of AAD

ORLANDO, Fla. – Henry W. Lim, MD, FAAD, chair emeritus of the department of dermatology and senior vice president for Academic Affairs at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, took office as president of the American Academy of Dermatology at its annual meeting.

“A top priority will be positioning the specialty to meet the challenges of today’s complex health care environment,” Lim stated in an AAD news release. “Additional key areas of focus will be on enhancing the quality of patient care and promoting diversity in medicine.”

Lim will assume the duties of the office at the conclusion of the annual meeting. He will hold the office for one year, during which time he will also hold the same position for the American Academy of Dermatology Association.

Lim earned his medical degree form SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and completed his dermatology residency at the New York University School of Medicine, according to the release.

Lim had previously served as vice president of AAD and on its board of directors.
