Eclipse Aesthetics announced its partnership with Theradome to launch a restorative hair device for people with alopecia areata at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting in Orlando, Fla.
Theradome LH80 Pro, which utilizes 80 proprietylaer lasers, is FDA cleared for home use, according to a news release.
“[The device] allows consumers to treat or to enhance the results of in-office procedures,” Tom O’Brien, CEO of Eclipse, stated in the release.
The device is a full-coverage helmet that utilizes the lasers to reach problem areas and aid in hair growth in people with alopecia areata. The device’s 678-nm light can concentrate on the scalp and reach the base of hair follicles during a 20-minute treatment session, according to the release.
"We're pleased to be partnering with Eclipse to offer Theradome's laser hair restoration helmet," Tamim Hamid, CEO of Theradome, stated in the release. "Most of our patients that adhere to our recommended hair loss treatment regimen and instructions experience a decrease of hair shedding, an increase of hair growth, and a doubling of hair diameter, overall giving them thicker hair,"
Hamid reported that results from Theradome can often be seen in as little as four weeks.
