PhotoSonix appoints former NeoStrata CEO to board of directors

PhotoSonix Medical announced in a press release that Mark D. Steele has joined its board of directors.

PhotoSonix is a medical technology company with a focus on the treatment of acne. Steele, a 30-year veteran of dermatology and consumer product industries, has held management roles with Warner Lambert and Procter and Gamble and most recently served as CEO of NeoStrata, leading a successful sale of the company to Johnson & Johnson, according to the release.

“PhotoSonix has developed a novel approach to the treatment of acne, a large market without many effective solutions,” Steele stated in the release. “The company’s mission and science-driven approach aligns with my passion for developing new dermatological solutions that deliver superior efficacy.”

The company’s CLENS (Combined Light Energy and Non-focused ultraSound) System combines ultrasound with blue light to target biofilm-based infections, including acne, according to the release. CLENS is an investigational device and not available for commercial use in the United States.
