La Roche-Posay launches prebiotic skin care line

La Roche-Posay announced the launch of its Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer prebiotic skin care line, according to a press release.

The new product line is the result of the company’s 5 years of research into products that affect the skin’s microbiome. The product line is formulated with prebiotic thermal spring water and achieves barrier recovery after 1 hour with up to 48 hours of hydration.

The line is also dermatologist tested to be safe for sensitive skin, allergy tested, oil-free and fragrance-free.

“Research is showing a connection between the health of your microbiome and the overall health of skin,” Hilary Baldwin, MD, a dermatologist from Morristown, New Jersey, commented in the release. “It’s important for us, as dermatologists to understand the influence it has on skin — inside and out — so we can make the best recommendations when treating patients.”
