The Melanoma Foundation of New England has announced that it will merge with Make Big Change, a New Hampshire-based nonprofit.

“We’ve been partnering with Make Big Change over the last year for our Practice Safe Skin program,” Deb Girard, executive director of the Melanoma Foundation of New England (MFNE) stated in a news release. “It was a natural fit to formally join forces and expand our programs nationwide.”

Practice Safe Sun offers sunscreen through dispensers as a preventive measure to help avoid sun over-exposure year round. The program partners with communities, municipalities and corporations to offer the sunscreen dispensers in all 50 states, according to the release.

Laurie Seavey will join MFNE’s staff to manage the sunscreen dispenser program. Seavey has served as a practice administrator at Dermatology & Skin Health in Dover, NH, and as executive director Make Big Change. She will now serve as Practice Safe Skin manager.

“Our two missions work hand-in-hand, and we feel that now is the time to merge with the MFNE to help better position our goal of facilitating the education of preventative safe skin measures,” Seavey stated in the release.
