LOS ANGELES — Loren S. Schechter, MD, discusses a panel presentation on gender confirmation surgery at Plastic Surgery The Meeting.
Schechter, of University Plastic Surgery, Morton Grove, Illinois, noted the particular procedures discussed included facial surgery, breast surgery, chest surgery, body contouring and surgery on the genitalia for individuals who suffer from gender dysphoria.
Additionally, Schechter mentioned the other components involved in the care of individuals seeking gender reassignment include work with mental health professionals, endocrinologists and primary care physicians.
