More than 18,500 attend AAD annual meeting

The American Academy of Dermatology announced that more than 18,500 people from 107 countries attended its 74th annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

The meeting, held March 4-8, included more than 375 educational sessions and 1,000 speakers presenting research and clinical information on the diagnosis and treatment of skin, hair and nail conditions, according to a press release. The meeting was attended by nearly 10,000 medical personnel, with researchers presenting more than 1,000 scientific posters.

“For 74 years, the annual meeting has delivered the best dermatologic education you can find,” dermatologist Ilona Frieden, MD, FAAD, chair of the AAD’s Scientific Assembly Committee, stated in the release. “Dermatologists who attended the meeting gained valuable knowledge about dermatologic disease in order to provide their patients with the highest quality care possible.”
