American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery names new president

The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery announced in a press release it has named Robert Alan Goldberg, MD, as president.

Goldberg, professor of ophthalmology at the David Geffen School of Medicine and UCLA and chief of orbital and ophthalmic plastic surgery at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute, has been a fellow of the society since 1989, according to the release. Among other ASOPRS positions, Goldberg has served as president-elect, vice president, program chair and executive secretary.

Goldberg has a private practice at UCLA, which focuses on advanced orbital surgery, endoscopic lacrimal surgery and aesthetic oculofacial surgery, according to the release.

Goldberg has been a board member of the California Association of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, the California Associations of Cosmetic Surgery, and has served on the editorial boards of JAMA Ophthalmology and JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, and The Journal of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, according to the release.
