WASHINGTON – In a video perspective, Amy J. McMichael, MD, discusses research she reviewed on qilib, a new over-the-counter topical treatment for hair loss.
The qilib hair care line (Galderma Laboratories) uses a solution formulated with botanicals, including an onion extract as its active ingredient, in conjunction with 2% minoxidil for women and 5% minoxidil for men. It was introduced at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting.
McMichael, professor and chair of the department of dermatology, Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, reported that studies by Galderma showed clinical results in 4 weeks, and the product “appears to be easily tolerated.”
