AAD new board members, VP begin terms

The American Academy of Dermatology announced that four new board of director members and its vice president took office at the conclusion of its annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

Kenneth J. Tomecki, MD, began a 1-year term as vice president, according to a press release. Tomecki was elected to the position in 2014, and held the position of vice president-elect since 2015. He is a clinical staff physician in the department of dermatology at Cleveland Clinic.

New board members include Erin E. Boh, MD, PhD, FAAD, Kimberly J. Butterwick, MD, FAAD,  Neil S. Sadick, MD, FAAD, and Linda Stein Gold, MD, FAAD. The will serve 4-year terms, according to the release.

Boh is professor and chair of the dermatology department at Tulane University, New Orleans. She is a member of the AAD’s Council on Communications and chairs its Member Communications Committee, according to the release.

Butterwick is in private practice in San Diego, and currently serves as the associate director of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery Cosmetic Dermatology Surgery Fellowship in her practice. Butterwick also writes an occasional post for the Healio.com/Dermatology blog.

Sadick is in private practice in New York and is clinical professor of dermatology at New York’s Weill Cornell Medical College, the release reported. He serves as treasurer of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and vice president of the International Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.

Stein Gold is director of dermatology clinical research and dermatology division head at Henry Ford health System, Detroit. She is a member of the AAD’s professionalism and ethics committee.
