ASDS announces winners of skin cancer prevention program
The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery recently honored society members who have “devoted tremendous time and energy” by providing free skin cancer screenings in a national skin cancer prevention program.
Andrew T. Jaffe, MD, of Naples, Fla., was named the overall top Choose Skin Health screener for 2015 and Riverchase Dermatology, based in Southwest Florida, was named the program’s top practice, according to a press release from ASDS.
The Choose Skin Health program is a partnership between ASDS and Neutrogena that encourages the public to choose healthy and sun-safe behavior, and promotes skin cancer prevention through free skin cancer screenings, regular sunscreen use and the practice of skin self-exams monthly, according to the release.
Regional winners of the program honored at the ASDS annual meeting in Chicago included Linda Hua Zhou, MD, of Johnston, Rhode Island; Alan R. Gilbert, MD, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Gulf Coast Dermatology, Panama City, Florida; Daniel J. Ladd, D.O., of Austin, Texas; Lindsay D. Sewell, MD, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Yardy Tse, MD, of Encinitas, California.
