ASEA reports skin gel improves appearance of cellulite, skin elasticity

ASEA announced study results showing RENU 28 skin gel improved the appearance of cellulite through the reduction of the size of adipose lobules.

Study results also showed significant improvement in skin elasticity, according to a press release.

“RENU 28 is active in redox signaling molecules that can be applied directly onto the skin to improve and revitalize it at the cellular level from the outside in,” Karen Stolman, MD, a board-certified dermatologist, said in the release. “These studies further validate the essential benefits of cellular health.”

In the study conducted by the German research institute Dermatest, 30 women with healthy skin and cellulite used RENU 28 twice a day for a 12-week period on the thighs, with test areas being approximately 3 cm in diameter. Ultrasound measurements were conducted in the same position before and after the 12-week period.

“All of the 30 study participants tolerated the mentioned product RENU 28 Revitalizing Gel very well during the course of the 12-week application test under dermatological and clinical criteria,” the researchers wrote in the study. “There were no undesired or even pathological skin reactions in the test area.”

At 6 weeks, the patients experienced a 12.24% reduction in length of adipose lobules and a 10.75% reduction in breadth of adipose lobules. At 12 weeks, the adipose lobules had a reduction of 15.81% and 14.73% in breadth of adipose lobules.

In a second test, a Cutometer sensor determined improvement of skin elasticity of about 16.62% at week 6 and 24.16% at week 12, according to study results, compared with 0.68% and 3.26%, respectively, in the treated control areas.
