Solta Medical announced in a press release the introduction of the Clear + Brilliant pélo laser in the United States for permanent hair reduction.
The device launch includes a partnership with German Medical Engineering (GME), a developer of high-performance aesthetic energy devices, according to the release
“We believe in the science of linear scanning as developed by GME, and are confident it offers a significant advantage to current laser hair removal technology,” Vladimir Paul-Blanc, Solta Medical general manager, stated in the release.
The device involves a novel linear scanning system combined with integrated contact cooling and diode laser hair removal technology with the fastest and largest treatment area available of 50 mm by 15 mm, according to the release.

“The 808nm wavelength allows me to treat a range of Fitzpatrick skin types, and the cooling crystal protects the epidermis while doing so,” Sabrina Fabi, MD, a San Diego-based dermatologist, stated in the release. “Unlike other diodes in the space, its cooling crystal helps mitigate pain, and I appreciate being able to alter the temperature of the cooling crystal.”
The device will first be made available to current Solta Medical customers, with full release expected in the fourth quarter of 2015, according to the release.
