Foundations form Melanoma Action Coalition

A group of melanoma foundations have formed the Melanoma Action Coalition to mobilize in the fight against melanoma, according to a press release.

The organization will “combat melanoma through prevention, awareness and research,” the release stated. “With strength in numbers and utilizing unique skill sets in public relations, advertising, public policy and consumer behavior and consumer behavior, MAC [Melanoma Action Coalition] will be a formidable force in the cause of preventing death from melanoma.”

Defeat Melanoma/Jeff Dulude Melanoma Foundation, The Enright Melanoma Foundation, Larry’s Legacy – Sunflowers of Hope, The Live4Life Foundation, Melanoma Know More, The Mollie Biggane Melanoma Foundation, Moving for Melanoma of Delaware, The Peggy Spiegler Melanoma Research Foundation, The Promise Foundation, The White Aisle Foundation and Meyer “Skip” Grinberg are among the founding members of the coalition, according to the release.

“All of MAC’s founding members have suffered a loss or been touch by this horrific disease, melanoma,” the release stated.

The coalition is asking patients with melanoma, their families, the medical community, business community and media to join its efforts, according the release.
