American Academy of Dermatology elects new officers, board
The American Academy of Dermatology recently announced the results of its annual election for president, vice president and board of directors, who will begin serving terms in office in March 2016, according to a press release.
Henry W. Lim, MD, FAAD, chairman of the dermatology department and Clarence. S. Livingood Chair in Dermatology in Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, was elected president, as previously reported by Healio.com/Dermatology. Lim previously served as American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) vice president.

Brian Berman
Brian Berman, MD, FAAD, was elected vice president. Berman, in private practice, is co-director of the Center for Clinical and Cosmetic research in Aventura, Fla., and voluntary professor of dermatology and cutaneous surgery at University of Miami School of Medicine. He formerly served on the AAD board of directors.
Lim and Berman will begin terms as president-elect and vice-president elect in March 2016, followed by one-year terms as president and vice president in March 2017, according to the release.

Kimberly Butterwick
Elected to the AAD board of directors were:
- Erin Boh, MD, PhD, FAAD, a professor and chair of the dermatology department at Tulane University. Boh is a member of the National Psoriasis Foundation Medical Board;
- Kimberly J. Butterwick, MD, FAAD, in private practice in San Diego. She is associate director of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship in her practice;
- Linda Stein Gold, MD, FAAD, director of dermatology clinical research and dermatology division head at Henry Ford Health System. Stein Gold also serves on the medical boards for the National Psoriasis Foundation and the American Acne and Rosacea Society; and
- Neil S. Sadick, MD, FAAD, in private practice in New York and clinical professor of dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College. Sadick is a past president of the American Society of Cosmetic Surgery.
The officers will hold the same positions with the American Academy of Dermatology Association, a sister organization to the AAD that focuses on government affairs, health policy and practice information for dermatologists, according to the release and the AAD website.
